Sugary Weekend & The Liebster Award

03/30/2015 · In: life

IMG_9628

Happy Monday! It’s overcast and windy and ominous looking where I am, but.. looking at the bright side of things. I’m breathing, I’m healthy, I’ve got lots of love in my life, and it’s a new day. Fresh mercies to be had.

I learned something about myself over the weekend: I am not good at/not prone to moderation. I would rather binge eat on chocolate chip cookies then not eat them for a month. Wonder what that says about me….. Anyway, these were some of the best I’ve ever made, so I had a handful (over the course of the weekend, stop that judging facial expression). Delightful.

liebster-300x300In company with an easter egg hunt, a fun date, and a wedding shower, Brittany nominated me for the Liebster Award. I had no idea what the Liebster Award was, but she did a great job explaining it here. Cool stuff – thanks, B! She gave those nominated 11 questions to answer. Here goes…

How did you decide on the title of your blog, and what’s it about? I am a passionate deep feeler. And while anatomically your heart keeps you alive, I live straight from mine. What I’m interested in, how I relate to people, how I make decisions…. all rooted in the depth of my heart. Like cold natured, or hot natured… heartnatured seemed to fit. Here you can expect pieces of my perspective on life, faith, relationships… with glimpses of creativity, food, inspiration, books and miscellaneous fun along the way.

Where does your blogging inspiration come from?  What I read, life happenings, lessons I learn, truth I want to share, memories & stories.

Can you give 11 random facts about yourself? I love to take candid photographs. When it comes to chips and salsa, my stomach becomes a bottomless pit. I grew up with almost all of my family living along the same country road. I like a good thunderstorm. Chicken pot pie is my favorite meal – could eat it every week. A place on my bucket list to visit is Zion National Park, in Utah. I’m married to my dream guy – thank God for him everyday. I like to hike and camp. I’m a sucker for a pair of well-worn jeans. I write and scribble in my Bible like it’s a sketchbook. If I won $1 million, I’d buy tiny apartments in all the cities I want to visit.

What is something you’ve been loving lately? Lately, my Erin Condren life planner has been super helpful. This spring is already off to a busy start, so that guy has been great to have.

What is it you love most about blogging? I like having an outlet to share stories, express my heart, and to stretch my design muscles.

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? To win $1 million (see reason above), to have a seahorse that would live forever, to take a couple months and walk around the world photographing it.

What is one country in the world you would like to visit? Why? Hmm.. Probably Israel. I’d love to visit all the physical locations of moments in the Bible.

What are you currently watching or reading? Reading John Piper’s Future Grace.

A long-lost relative leaves you a large sum of money. What do you do with it? Travel around the world… by foot, by train, by taxi.

What is something you do when you need to take time for yourself? Go for a run, OR leave an entire Saturday morning open to do whatever I want – no guilt allowed.

Where do you see yourself in five years time? Hopefully with a growing family. Raising little ones to love life, know Jesus, to be kind and brave.

Technically, I’m supposed to nominate more bloggers for this award (with under 200 followers on the social media platform of my choice – Bloglovin’). Here are my nominations:

Robin of An Ocean Dream  |  Renee of Mulling Over My Morning Coffee  |  Chelsie of Life With Rosie  |   Liz of The Kindhearted

Gals, answer the same questions I did. :) And you can check out Brittany’s post for the actual rules.

Thank you, Leslie! Glad you stopped by. And yes, the cookies were TOO good. I ate a good bit of the dough as I was baking them, and then a handful after they were done. Haha.
