With innate cheerfulness and beauty, a tulip, one of the best flowers to plant in spring, lends itself to a variety of garden settings — from formal border gardens to naturalistic, casual settings. And there’s a tulip for every gardener, from diminutive 4-inch-tall specimens to extravagant multifoot-high blooms. via
Tulips have always been a favorite of mine. Normally flowers are pretty because of their fullness or openness, but I like the tulip because it’s almost the opposite.
A showstopper when in bloom, ‘Jetfire’ offers clear golden petals with a contrasting orange trumpet. via
My admiration for daffodils originated with my Mom. Growing up we always planted them together, waited for them to bloom in the Spring, and then placed bouquets on the kitchen table. The bright yellow color is significant of Spring, and tends to always make me smile.
Do you have a favorite spring bloom?
Tulips. All the day long, tulips. We recently moved, so this is our first spring here, and you can imagine my excitement when pockets of tulips sprang up around our flower beds!!
Haha, love that! I can’t wait to plant some around our new yard.
