My man planned a surprise party for me! Friday night we had plans (not the real plan, evidently), but when we stopped by parent’s house to pick up something there were at least 15 cars in the yard! Friends, family, all gathered to eat, catch up, and celebrate my birthday. Amazing.
J gave me a beautiful cross necklace Friday morning, along with my favorite breakfast: waffles. He’s a charmer, that one. Friday night, my mom had cupcakes, a large [homemade] cookie, and mint chocolate chip ice cream [my fave].
Also, this weekend was our church’s annual archery shoot, which J, my sister, and my dad shoot in. It’s fun to watch them participate in something they are passionate about and enjoy.
Overall, the weekend was wonderful. I’m always amazed at the love and celebration that comes with birthdays. I get overwhelmed with gratitude to God for the sweet, kind, special people that are in my life. Whether they love and support me from afar, or from 5 minutes away, I am blessed.
I hope I never take good relationships for granted — family or friends — because they are what make life truly rich.
Here’s to another adventurous year….
