My Balance Sheet

06/11/2015 · In: wellness

My balance sheet | heartnatured
Summer is the time for refreshment, right? It’s the time to take inventory of life, of activity. For me, it’s the time to prioritize elements of life, to strike a healthy balance of mind, body, and soul. To ask God for wisdom on what to keep and what to let go. This list is inspired by The Chalkboard.

When I feel overwhelmed I…  am probably in need of a short [release cry.

My favorite way to take a break is… to take a walk in the sunshine.

Daily necessity for sanity: happy + inspirational tunes

Best tactic for staying calm under fire: getting alone to collect my thoughts + emotions

Favorite way to detox: a Daniel fast for a few days

Favorite way to refuel and replenish energy: a healthy snack — smoothie or meal

Stress-busting ritual: taking a drive with the windows down and music up

Monthly must for self-care: A day of no screentime

Mantra for slowing down: “You can only live one day at a time. Focus on today.”

Thing that always brings me back to center: Love

Circumstances under which you turn off your phone: Family vacation and intentional time with my husband

Where do you find sanctuary: Nature

How do you find rest in a chaotic schedule: Saying ‘No.’

Best piece of advice ever received on balance: “Boundaries in life are important. Don’t underestimate them.”

Biggest inspirations: My husband and his intentionality in life, the Bible and its words on priorities

How do you maintain balance in your life? How do you prioritize self-care? Will this summer contain any changes for you?

I read a lot and try to exercise everyday to maintain balance. Sleep is important too.

Marla, I definitely agree about the sleep! I’ve noticed recently how my mind is affected when I’m tired versus when I’m rested. A huge difference!
