My husband’s family has owned a volume of acres in the small area we grew up in, and when the kids were younger, my father-in-law built this simple, wonderful cabin for them to hang out in. It’s a place full of memories, family gatherings, hunting traditions, and fun dinners. It’s been the place of nephew’s birthday parties and fellowship dinners with friends. It’s a place for story-telling and adventure-having. And across the pond it was also a place for a wedding proposal. ;)
I have come to also love this place, what it means to my new family, and the memories I myself have made there.
The other day we decided to take a photography adventure.
This is J telling me a story about a feisty turkey he was hunting one time.
This is the swing he built for his proposal to me. I always smile, knowing we have such a sweet “spot.”
