Summertime Staples

School is out, vacations are in the near future, and the weather is warm (at least it is here in Georgia). I’m kind of ‘transition seasons’ kind of gal, my favorites are spring and fall. But, summer is pretty great. It’s the season to travel someplace tropical, to get up before the sun to exercise because it’s hot, and to make meals light and cool. Below my favorite summertime staples:

june-picks

This Kate Spade tumbler or your favorite cup. Summer is the time to stay hydrated! I’m also convinced that if you genuinely like your cup or water bottle you’ll drink more water.

Everyday sandals. I can wear OUT some Target sandals. I usually also tend to buy the same style in 2 different colors — anyone else?

A nice beach tote. Beach means sand, and while it will inevitably get everywhere, I accept the challenge every summer of keeping my stuff sand-free. Hence, the beach bag. Tall so it doesn’t tip over easily, and quick to clean.

A hat for any occasion. A: hats are quirky, cute, and add a layer of fresh to any outfit. B, I’m anti-sunburn on my face. Hats, visors, and ball caps are my friends.

Your favorite shades. I only recently came across a nice pair of sunglasses, and for some strange reason they give me a little confidence. Sporting shades that fit my face well and keep the bright sun out of my eyes is a win in my book.

Do you have any summertime must-haves?

My biggest summertime must-haves are sunblock and sunglasses. I love the hat you picked! Very cute – unfortunately I have such a big head that I can’t fit most hats. I’m sure it will look lovely on you, though!

Ahh, the sunblock! YES. I recently got the worst sunburn of my life so I am allllll about the sunscreen. And I’m sure you could work the hat, Sara! :)

So funny! I just posted my summer essentials yesterday. haha.
I need a cute hat for the summer! I usually wear a bandanna or headband, but I am really loving the fedora-esk hats this year :)

Haha, great minds think alike, Kristin! Ahhh, a bandana. I wonder if I could pull off a bandana. Not sure. :P

Cute round up and definitely agree! I just bought a cute fedora that I am OBSESSED WITH! It is so fun to wear and dresses up any outfit!

I agree, Chelsie! It seems to drab it up just enough to be funky and fun. :)
