We spent our Halloween weekend in the mountains of North Carolina with some friends. You’ll notice, in the second photo, that we are the only duo without kiddos. It was quite the experience. Mountains and a warm fire = relaxing. Six kids under six = marvelously chaotic. I can’t complain though — we hiked, we ate, we read books by the fire, we went trick-or-treating, we adventured.
All good things, all good things.
I confess that Autumn is my favorite season. Driving through the mountains surrounded by the rich oranges, yellows, and reds is amazing. I’m also thankful for sweet friends, the downtime, the adventuring with J, and simply a weekend away.
It is experiences like that where I acknowledge again how creative God is. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.” Psalm 19:1-2
