Random Things Wednesday

12/16/2015 · In: life

Happy Wednesday, friends!

This quote: “And that is the wonder of all wonders, that God loves the lowly…. God is not ashamed of the lowliness of human beings. God marches right in. He chooses people as his instruments and performs his wonders where one would least expect them. God is near to lowliness; he loves the lost, the neglected, the unseemly, the excluded, the weak and broken.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

There’s been some fun with breakfast this week. Adding syrup to breakfast sausage, blueberry muffins. I’ve never made muffins from scratch, but I’d love to sometime soon. Any recipe suggestions? I’m welcome to all.

I’m a big fan of Dooney & Bourke, and a couple of months ago I stumbled across a vintage bag online for a reasonable price. *Cue happy dance*

J has helped me soften and treat the leather, and it’s become one of my favorite bags. I get a lot of interesting comments about it, from “Wow, that’s an old purse.” to “Cool, vintage!” All of which make me smile.

I’m currently reading Living the Proverbs, by Chuck Swindoll, and it’s been both refreshing and convicting. I’m learning that wisdom is more than simply being smart, but making decisions that affirm and help God’s working in my life. “Orderly thinking is a gift from God and one way we bear his image.“

I’ve also been doodling up a storm lately, inking up whatever holiday line comes to mind. If you were to visit our house you’d see them placed all over the place. (Thankfully, J loves it.)

We made this Sweet Potato Chicken Skillet last night, and it was amazing. It wasn’t even finished cooking and J was all We are definitely making this again.

Is it strange that I like writing in a planner as much as I do? Smart phones with cool calendar apps are great and all, but there is something about pen and paper that I don’t think I’ll ever not enjoy. The stickers, the highlighting, it’s a marvelous mess.

Thanks for reading along with my random thoughts.

Hope your Wednesday is a sweet one!

I use either Food.com or All Recipes to find my recipes each time. I really like them both because you can save your recipes to your account and then you have a digital cookbook full of recipes! I’m a fan of that because I always misplace my physical recipes.

I have yet to get a Recipes.com account, but I’ve only ever heard good things. The idea of having lots of favorite recipes in one place is QUITE appealing, haha.
