A fabulous southwest-style salad that’s too big for a regular sized bowl. I find salad-making a creative art form, and enjoy trying various combinations. My [secret] philosophy is: 30% lettuce, 70% toppings. This one includes: romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, corn, pico, black beans, avocado, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a ranch + BBQ sauce combination for the dressing. Think it sounds strange? Don’t knock it until you try it, friends.

I’ve decided to read the Bible chronologically in 2016. I want to immerse myself in Scripture, I want to take verses or big ideas apart, I want to meditate on it. I’ve yet to embark on a ‘chronological’ adventure, so I’ll keep you posted. Have you ever tried this kind of bible reading? How did it go?

C.S. Lewis said, “I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been born in God’s thought and then made by God is the dearest, grandest, and most precious thing in all thinking.”

Nicole Nordeman’s 2015 hit, Name, is continually a heart-lightener. You are not your ashes, You are a flame. Do not ask the shadows, The Light of the world knows, Knows your name.

Silliness. I had some long days this week, and with J working longer hours because it’s busy season, I have the entire drive home to decompress. If you didn’t see my Instagram post, this is new information to you, but it’s a great release to sing loudly and dance ridiculously to a Glee or Pentatonix cover song. Trust. Try it.
This weekend I’m going to ATL with my some friends for the Women of Faith Tour. I’m stoked.
That salad looks incredible. I love salads with a kind of southwest bbq style! I’ve read through the Bible chronologically a couple of years ago and it was unique. I think we can get so used to reading Scripture the same way and in the same order than changing is helps us to notice things that never caught our attention before. Hope it goes well for you! Have a fantastic weekend. :)
Yes! I wholeheartedly agree, Cassandra. That is what partly sparked this idea… The other reason, if I’m being truthful, is that I find I spend more time in God’s Word if I have a little bit of structure.
PS – the BBQ chicken salad is forreals the best.
Just saying…ranch and bbq sauce is a delicious combo! The BBQ chicken salad at Panera combines those flavors and it’s one of my favorites! :) Glad you got some silliness in your week!
I would have never thought to try the BBQ salad from Panera! And I think I have a gift card for there. SWEET. I’ll let you know ;)
