The weather this weekend was going to be too nice not to go to the cabin, and J’s brother and sons were coming up also. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise, shared great conversation around the campfire, and adventured in many an outdoor activity. I took an hour-long walk with my camera, spent some time water-side reading, and had lengthy talks with Jesus in the quiet.
I told J I want to make it a monthly event to go out there and spend the day, or a night, with no phones. Unhurried time to talk, rest, worship, pray, and adventure.
This is a verse that kept coming to mind as I walked this morning,
The Lord confides in those who fear him, he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare. Psalm 25:14-15
As I was walking through the woods, talking out loud, humming my favorite hymns, I felt the sense of Him walking beside me, and it was wonderful. I then thought about the snare that often sneaks up on my feet. The snare of pride, or distractions of this world, and I plead with God to help keep my eyes on Him. And I cry,
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God, my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-5
I hope you are all having a nice weekend so far, friends. Get outside if the weather is nice!
