Chelsea’s Best of Augusta, GA

04/26/2016 · In: travel

It may not be super famous, it may not be the capital of our state, but I like being an Augusta local. I enjoy traveling both near and far, but I am glad to call Augusta, Georgia my home. The above photo is a cool dusk shot of downtown Augusta from the Savannah River, that I surprisingly found on Shutterstock.

Below are a few of my favorite things…

Good Eats

  • Frog Hollow
  • Rhinehart’s Oyster Bar
  • Guiseppe’s Pizza & Italian Special
  • Diablo’s Southwest Grill
  • New Moon
  • Nacho Mama’s Burritos
  • Chicken Salad Chick
  • T’s Seafood
  • Two Mom’s Cookies

Cool History

  • Kiokee Baptist Church
  • The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson
  • Sacred Heart Catholic Church
  • Augusta Museum of History
  • Magnolia Cemetery

Art, Music, and Outdoor Activity

  • Morris Museum of Art
  • Augusta Greenjackets
  • Imperial Theater
  • The Augusta Players
  • Augusta Canal
  • Gertrude Herbert Museum of Art
  • of course, The Masters Tournament

If you’re ever coming through Augusta, be sure to check out a few of these!

Thanks for sharing your favorite hotspots in Augusta. I live in Florida and love visiting Georgia. I heard about the Anthropologie outlet in Augusta called “Final Cut.” Have you been?

Yes, Marla! It’s large. But you have to be in the mood to rummage. :)
