what would it live like to live all for Christ

05/15/2020 · In: faith

What would it live like for our relationship with Jesus, our life with God, our ongoing dependence on the Holy Spirit, to be the most important thing to us and the reality that stands out most in our little worlds?

What would it live like to believe that in our weakness and strengths He is conforming us to look more like Jesus, not a holier version of someone else?

What would it live like to be so familiar with His voice in the quiet that it is the loudest to us in a crowded room?

What would it live like to enjoy created things but to be detached enough from them we could cheerfully give them away?

What would it live like to be unafraid because we value God’s decision-making and trust His heart of love in e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g that happens?

What would it live like for us to care most in a moment about what He’s doing and who He is, instead of what serves or comforts or worries us?

What would it live like to be an expert in repentant neediness?

What would it live like as a mother to be so fearless and peaceful our children want to mimic our bravery and know for themselves the God we trust wholeheartedly?

What would it live like to put aside man-made rules and seek the wisdom and direction of the Holy Spirit, kindly but confidently following Him even when others don’t understand?

What would it live like to want His glory and name to entirely absorb your glory and name?

What would it live like to so closely abide you joyfully and confidently go where Jesus goes and to stay where He stays?

What would it live like to treasure God so much your love makes your enjoyment of social media, food, shopping and television look like hate?

What would it live like to see every single person as someone He loves, died for and gave His Spirit to?

What would it live like for the peace of Christ to rule in real time at the gate of our hearts?

What would it live like to be determined that nothing within your power will stand in the way of you knowing as much of Him as you can on earth through Scripture and prayer?

What would it live like to spend more of the day’s minutes self-denying more than self-promoting or self-protecting?

What would it live like to need nothing but Jesus, knowing our greatest need(s) He meets, receiving Him as real provision and satisfaction?

What would it live like to faithfully give what we have, no matter how small, or ordinary, or costly to God to do with whatever He deems good?

What would it live like to spend our energy seeking the things that are above, His Kingdom, and be free from the world’s pressures or opinions?

What would it live like to obey His commands because He’s your God and He’s the most important person in your life?

What would it live life to believe every day with Christ is nothing short of a miracle to be enjoyed, humbled by and thankful for?

I think it would live free,
courageous,
with clarity,
and love.

I think it would live like Jesus’ life.

Personally, I don’t what it lives like because I’m not there yet, but I’ve tasted tiny bites and seen glimpses, and I. want. it.

I pray all Christians want it.

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:9-14
