five things to remember

01/18/2021 · In: inspiration

Everything can be an opportunity to draw near to God. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8)

Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest upon reciprocity. (C.S. Lewis)

Nothing is impossible with God. He is perfectly sovereign, good and all-powerful. His Spirit lives inside you.

If you’re stuck, try silence, solitude and listening. Phillip Britts wrote, “Spiritual depth, if it is true, is the working of God coming down and penetrating to the depths of our hearts, and not of our own soul’s climbing.”

Humility is the best way. God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31)

The delicate art of walking with my friend Jesus into the lives of other people, to help gently untangle a false narrative of God and to affirm a true identity in Christ — this is where true discipleship begins and continues.

I'm Chelsea... a wife, mom and friend passionate about cultivating a rich life with God.

This blog is equal parts family stories, faith reflections and creative delight.

I read a lot. I eat peanut butter every day. I like shopping secondhand. I love hosting people in our home.

Writing helps me pay attention, and paying attention keeps me grateful.
