I did this series of posts for Anna’s first year of life and really enjoyed having some small details chronicled. It also trained me to pay attention and jot down notes of things I didn’t want to forget.

Weight + Height: 8 lbs and 20 in
Clothes: All of Anna’s newborn onesies with a few new ones thrown in that were gifts. Some 0-3 sizes are big on her, while the newborns fit perfectly.
Eating: Milk, milk and more milk. Grateful that pumping is working incredibly well to provide what she needs.
Sleeping: She’s pretty finicky when it comes to daytime naps. Sometimes she doesn’t nap at all and other times it takes a long time for her to settle down, fighting the swaddle and what not. We have days where the consistent nap is only 55 minutes, and others where she goes 2.5 hours. Nighttime varies, but she has given us some long 3.5 hour stretches. #newbornlife

Health: Anna has a cold so I have been vigilantly washing pacifiers after Anna grabs them and before she puts it in J’s mouth. Marvelously, Julia is healthy and growing well.
Crying: Mostly when she decides she doesn’t want to sleep, or during the famed ‘witching hour’ (why does that have to be right before dinnertime?).
Likes: Eating, being held upright on the shoulder, her pacifier.
Dislikes: Mmm, maybe that moment when Anna was going down for a kiss on the back of her head and slipped, falling on top of her. There were tears.

Memorable Moments: Even though being up multiple times at night is challenging, I find myself enjoying the quiet moments rocking her, just the two of us.
Spent a few days with all of our Eubank family when John’s brother and sister-in-law came in from Colorado for the 4th. It was a real joy to watch my siblings-in-law and nieces and nephews enjoying both my girls.
Put her on for a walk up the driveway for the first time and after a major spit up (#typical), she fell right to sleep as Anna and I wandered around.
Had a fun photoshoot for family photos where Anna learned about kissing her sister on the head and is now obsessed with doing it.

Places She’s Been: Our parents’ houses, church, Target parking lot and the doctor’s office
Quirks: She is the noisiest when she’s eating! So much grunting and swallowing and fidgeting.
Prayers: For wisdom and insight into her uniqueness as a newborn, a.k.a what helps her nap during the day. For the future day when she believes Christ as her Savior. For a one day close relationship with her sister. For energy when we’re awake and deep rest when we’re asleep.
