Two Months with Julia

08/15/2022 · In: kids

See Julia’s one month post.

Weight + Height: We go later this month to see Doc. I’ll come back and update this then.

Clothes: Working our way out of newborn onesies. Starting to grab other cute outfits that aren’t t-shirts.

Eating: Milk, milk and more milk.

Sleeping: We’ve had a couple of 8-10 hour nights! Praise be. Daytime naps are still inconsistent. Sometimes she’ll have 2-3 cycles in a row of struggle-bus sleep, other days she has a few 2 hour naps. Wild. John reminds me I should be thankful she’s sleeping most at night, and I somewhat agree, but…. still. :)

Crying: You know, unless she’s been asleep for a long time and wakes up SUPER HUNGRY, she rarely cries hard these days.

Likes: Riding in the car, being in the carrier and SMILING.

Dislikes: The swaddle.

Memorable Moments: She has started laughing occasionally and it’s adorable.

She also still cracks me up in that if you smile at her she almost immediately smiles back.

Sweet for me to watch friends hold or feed Jules.

Anna has been not sleeping during her naptime so more than once we hop in the car so Jules can get a nap and Anna ends up dozing also.

Places She’s Been: Aunt Sassy’s house, Sunday School

Parent Stories: It is honestly one of the most endearing things, watching a baby fall drift off to sleep. So sweet. Still a big fan of the Baby Connect app; makes keeping track of all the details very easy. I’m pumping a crazy amount, 65 ounces a day! It’s been super cool though because I’ve been able to give days-worth of milk to friends whose supply is struggling a little.

Prayers: For my stamina as the daytime naps, getting her to settle, are very taxing. For continued grace with coaching Anna on caring for her little sis; I don’t want her to feel like I’m always telling her ‘No’ or scolding her for something.

Excited about doing a year of Chatbook minis for Jules. Read more about them here, and get a discount code!
