Health: We all had colds a few weeks ago, and Jules has had her fair share of low fevers lately, but apart from napping longer, she’s her normal happy self. Had a great 4 month appointment with our pediatrician — grateful for a healthy, growing baby.
Clothes: She’s wearing 3-6 months now regularly and the sleepers are getting a little snug at her feet. #longbabies
Eating: Milk, milk and more milk. Still pumping 50ish ounces a day and planning to start weaning next month and use up our few-month freezer stash.

Sleeping: Halfway-ish through the month, she cried out in the middle of the night and I went in to find her on her nose! The next night we tried the Merlin suit and the night after that we decided to go cold turkey with no swaddle. We were also OUT OF TOWN TRAVELING WITH FRIENDS. It was eventful. A friend let us borrow their Woombie swaddle and while Jules cried for a good 2 hours the first night and woke up every few hours, after a week, she was rocking and rolling. I have caught her in the middle of the night asleep on her belly, so we’ll see how that continues to go. I’m also very thankful she naps reasonably well on the go.
Crying: Truthfully, marvelously, she’s pretty content… unless she woke up early from a nap or is extra tired.
Toys: The play mat, this crinkle toy and this loopy thing, which Anna also loved.
Likes: Rolling from back to belly! These days she barely stays on her back for two minutes before she flips over. About a week after we stopped swaddling, rolling back to belly during awake time became her new favorite thing. I anticipate the rolling during nap time to begin soon and the adjustment to require grace upon grace. :) And she’s really trying to reach her feet most minutes.
Dislikes: Hmm… when she’s over the car seat. When she’s tired and face plants into the blanket. When Anna trips over her. And ESPECIALLY when she has to take medicine.

Memorable Moments: Definitely the weekend away when we went arms free.
She was also a VERY cute ladybug for our church’s fall festival.
Also, she is the smiliest and it is the most fun and sweet, especially first thing in the morning when she lays eyes on us for the first time.
This month was also a very meaningful baby dedication service, where we stood next to my sister and her family (super special) and were encouraged by our church family in the raising of our girls.
She’s also cooing and ‘talking’ more and it’s heart-melting.
We took holiday photos as a family and that was something — Jules was the kid who smiled the most.
It is the most fun to hear Anna cheer Julia on 90% of the time after she rolls.
Prayers: For continued wisdom in parenting a toddler and baby simultaneously; for stamina in continuing to pump; for our marriage as we pursue each other and pay attention to each others’ needs.
Excited about doing a year of Chatbook minis for Jules. Read more about them here, and get a discount code!
