Seven Months With Julia

01/20/2023 · In: kids

Health: 17 pounds and happy as a lark! After a week of low fevers, she tested “positive” for a UTI. We treated that and she’s healthy again. Still unsure the cause of the fever, so we’re waiting on a few things to check out. Her hair is also growing fuzzier and fuller so that’s fun. Still combatting dry skin/eczema with prescription cortisone and LOTS of moisturizer.

Clothes: She’s in 9 month sleepers, growing like a weed.

Eating: Milk, milk and more milk. I’m not pumping anymore, yay! We’re trying to oatmeal every day but she struggles through, with a squished up this-is-not-my-jam facial expression.

Sleeping: She’s sleeping 10-12 hours at night and taking a pretty good 3 naps each day. She’s a champion in that she dozes well in the car seat. VERY grateful for that.

Likes: The bouncer, Indestructible books, being on her stomach.

Dislikes: Oatmeal. Not a fan.

Memorable Moments/Quirks/Skills: She has recently been falling asleep in the same position, naps and nighttime — squished up toward the top of the crib. So funny.

She’s reaching and grabbing for everythingggggg. And putting all the things in her mouth. Also drooling like waterfall.

Enjoyed worshipping with my family on Christmas morning sitting behind dear friends of ours who shared Cheerios and the occasional chuckle over our kids voluminous voices.

Julia is bringing serious joy to the most ordinary moments, smiling at Publix cashiers and nurses and basically anymore.

She is pushing up on her knees a little bit more and can inch around. We laugh as we watch her do circles in the crib.

Prayers: Stamina for relational coaching and encouragement (aka sharing) for Anna; cultivating a heart of gratitude for the simple, ordinary moments; praise over the rhythm of our life, being able to stay home with them; wisdom as the ages and stages change and the girls grow.
