“We’re praying big prayers.”
Watching Jennie Allen talk with Asbury students, this was a comment.
Inspiring. Encouraging. Worship-inducing.
Less than 24 hours later, I am neck deep in overwhelm as I care for two emotional, sick kids with my own sick self.
Confession: I’m praying big prayers of “Lord, be merciful and miraculous and let this baby get good rest.”
The Enemy tempted me with shame and smallness over this consuming more prayer energy than revival on university grounds.
And then, the Holy Spirit with His wiser, all-around better voice — it’s not less because it’s the same God.
Whether you’re on mission overseas or a college student or mothering in Georgia, the realities of life call for the riches of God. And He is worthy of our awe and our asking. And He can be attentive to all, constantly, and without fatigue.
I can ask big things of God for Christians all over the world, and I can ask big things for the needs in my home. He’s worthy of our adoring, confessing, repentance… whatever the catalyst. Amazing.
PS – I appreciated Allie Beth Stuckey’s words on Asbury.
