Back in January, I discovered that Nickel Creek and Chris Thile were going to be back on tour and within 3 hours of us. John has long been a fan of the band, and we’ve even seen Thile in the band The Punch Brothers a few years ago. We pulled into Charleston around 5 o’clock and pulled out the next day at 1:30. Quick, but so fun!
We ate dinner at Poogan’s Smokehouse and then stopped by Kaminsky’s on the way to the concert (milkshake for John, iced caramel latte for me… the concert didn’t start until 9 O’CLOCK, my friends).
The musicians were incredible, unsurprising to us. The weather was perfect, and the Cistern Yard at College of Charleston was a delightful atmosphere.

I really enjoyed walking everywhere, and the next morning was slow and nice. We ate lunch outside by the water at Fleet Landing and wandered around until we stopped at my long-awaited strawberry pop-tart at Millers.
It was a gift of a time… fun, refreshing and encouraging time together.
