I waded through a meltdown.
Jules walked the driveway with us for the first time.
Anna pushed her baby in the stroller halfway up alongside John pushing Jules.
We walked 1/4 of the driveway all holding hands, including the babydoll. And Anna’s look of pure joy was amazing.
The whole thing made me worship — the beauty, the grace, the wisdom His Spirit gave.
Today God wants to stand in your home, in your heart, and bring His anointed presence.
Today is a gift. In twenty years I’ll long for my toddler to climb into my lap with a well worn book like she will today. Today I’m not “stuck” at home. Today I’m given a cozy home filled with five vibrant children, hearts soft and impressionable.
Today is a gift.
Fill my heart with grace, Lord, to love lavishly.
Fill my heart with courage, God, to be willing to face my own triggers and let You bring healing so I can love fully.
Fill my heart with love, Jesus, because You love so completely.
This is our moment.
We stretch out our hands, full of needs and weakness, to You. Like Mother Teresa bending over the dying, like Esther standing in the gap for her people, like Harriet Tubman rescuing people from a life of slavery – we are called.
Let’s do it well.
